Konzeption für die 4. Auflage 2020 (erschienen am 20.03.2020): Anhand von 23 Lernsituationen können die Schülerinnen und Schüler die Planung, Steuerung und Kontrolle des gesamten Beschaffungsprozesses in einem Industriebetrieb unmittelbar nachvollziehen und selbst "erleben". Die Lernsituationen beziehen sich auf das zu Beginn vorgestellte Modellunternehmen, die BüroTec GmbH.
Die Lernsituationen beginnen jeweils mit einem situationsbezogenen und in der Regel problemorientierten Einstieg. Angeleitet durch die darauf folgenden Arbeitsaufträge sollen die Schüler zunächst das vorgegebene Problem selbstständig lösen und schließlich zu einer vertiefenden Auseinandersetzung mit dem jeweiligen (Teil-) Geschäftsprozess gelangen. Hierfür stellen die Autoren anschauliches und praxisnahes Informationsmaterial zur Verfügung, was zudem den Umgang mit Informationsquellen trainiert.
Dabei wird sowohl auf methodische Vielseitigkeit (z. B. Einübung von Präsentationen, Rollenspiele, Mindmapping, Anfertigung ereignisgesteuerter Prozessketten, Erstellen von Geschäftsbriefen) als auch auf den Bezug zu den prüfungsrelevanten Inhalten des jeweiligen Lernbereichs geachtet.
Die Lehrerbegleit-CD enthält die Lösungen zu den Arbeitsaufträgen sowie didaktisches Zusatzmaterial für die Hand des Lehrers. Diese wird nur an Lehrkräfte abgegeben.
